Marine Gambardella is a visual artist who trained in visual arts and set design at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Monaco. She takes an anthropological approach to the subject matter of my pieces. Whether through the study of the human body or its social character.
Her work creates an exchange between past, present and future. Using poetry and a multi- disciplinary language, her practice questions memory and the idea of the trace, in all its forms, whether individual or collective. The trace of our memories, of our lives or of the bond that unites a collective.
In our absolute quest for meaning, what imprint do we want to leave on our existence?
How does the past shape us and what traces does it leave on us? What traces would we like to hide, and what do they reveal?
In 2020, Marine Gambardella co-created the Non Surtaxé collective with two other visual artists. Together, they run artistic and cultural initiatives, mainly in the PACA region.
