Born in 1939 in Nice, Gilbert Pedinielli first painted geometric abstraction linked to the golden ratio. In 1964 he co-founded the Théâtre Populaire de Nice, directed, performed, designed sets, costumes and co-wrote two plays. With D. Angel, D. Farioli and G. Martin he created CALIBRE 33 in 1978. This was followed by a multidimensional creation of series of objects according to the Fibonacci sequence, capable of investing sites in variable deployments and settling in a permanent renewal. Appropriation of places, construction-deconstructiontransformation, his research leads him to the performance which penetrates his work, then becomes a free artistic gesture. Simultaneously with his production, he distributed
artistic leaflets from 1984, during exhibitions, debates and street demonstrations, interventions called Petite Action Dérisoire.
